This museum houses 4,000 pieces of artwork, mainly of Japan and Asia, donated by the Mitsui family. There are 6 national treasures, 21 important cultural properties, and a large variety of art including Noh dance masks and tea ceremony equipment.

A replica of the famed tea ceremony room "Nyoan" (Aichi Prefecture) is set up to show seasonably matching beauty of hanging scrolls and ceremony instruments.

This is the place to experience traditional and practical beauty in the Orient. There is also a postage stamp collection involving 130,000 items.
