The 70-story Landmark Tower, built in 1993, is Japan's second highest skyscraper at 296m, following Abano Harukasu in Osaka at 300m. On the 69th floor is the Sky Garden observatory where you can get views of Yokohama and Tokyo, and on clear days Mount Fuji. The building boasts one of the fastest elevators in the world (45km/h), which takes you to the observatory in 40 seconds.
The lower five floors are occupied by the Landmark Plaza shopping mall, and the Dockyard Garden in the basement is a square surrounded by restaurants. The square's design is a replica of Japan's oldest dockyard which was in operation in the port of Yokohama from 1896 until 1973.

This was the best part of my trip to Yokohama. We were able to get on Japan’s fastest elevator going 750m a second and that was pretty cool. It was honestly the smoothest elevator stop too! Other than ears popping, it didn’t seem to be moving that fast. The view was great! You just need to pick a day with little clouds. The cost is ¥1000 per person, and well worth it.

Yokohama Landmark Tower is an amazing place to start your Yokohama tour. You can go to the observatory and see all the views. You have clear views of all Yokohama from this vantage point and if you're lucky enough on clear days you can spot Mount Fuji.
After the observatory deck feel free to dine in any of the many restaurants. I've yet to be disappointed by the food here so any restaurant, ramen or quick dining affair will be amazing.
Shopping is always amazing.
Parking can be pricey but I prefer parking in the tower if I haven't taken the train.

Great hotel, nice quiet rooms and very friendly staff.
Only thing is the charge for the gym and pool. ¥5000 is ridiculous, I've never known a 5 star hotel to charge for the use of a gym or pool!

It's a great place for your shopping needs as well as a large variety of dining options. It's a huge shopping complex on the bottom floors and there is also an observatory at the top, with an admission fee of around 1000 yen. It is also connected to Queens Square so you can walk right over.

View of the Minatomirai waterfront district skyline in Yokohama, Japan featuring Landmark Tower standing at 296.3 m (972 ft) high with 70 stories above ground. On a global scale, it’s a small skyscraper, but remarkably tall considering the amount of engineering required to withstand Japan’s numerous big earthquakes.

I have some proposals including visiting Landmark Tower in Yokohama.
As I mentioned in my profile, I will pick you up at the entrance of your hotel, then bring you to Yokohama by train. After this short trip, you will be able to buy train ticket and chose right train by yourself. This small but sometime difficult "skill" for visitors make you easy to go anywhere you want.
Let me help you enjoy your Japan visiting!
