Odori Park is the long, block-wide park in the center of Sapporo, separating the city into north and south. Stretching over 12 blocks (1.5km), the park offers marvelous views of flower beds, fountains, statues and monuments including Black Slide Mantra by the well-know architect Isamu Noguchi. The park has a total of 4,700 planted trees of 92 species, such as lilac, elm, zelcova, rose and azalea.

From late April to late October, you can pick and eat delicious fresh corn on the cob brushed with soy sauce and grilled at food stalls. The park plays host to city's major events and festivals including Yosakoi Soran Festival, a type of team dance competition held in June, Beer Garden Fair in summer, and Snow Festival and White Illumination Festival in winter.

One of the most impressive attractions in Odori Park is for sure Snow Festival in February. Before I guide you, you would be fascinated into a fantasy snow world by numerous snow monuments.

In addition, the Ice Festival is also held in Susukino street at the same.
It will be a pity to miss these two festivals in February. Let us enjoy.
