This temple belong to the Nichiren school of Buddhism and is the place the founder passed away in the 13th century. The temple features an oldest and largest five-story pagoda in the Kanto region. In springtime, a festival celebrating the birth of Buddha is pompous with parades and choruses, and the main approach leading to the temple is beautifully flanked with cherry blossoms. The annual live concert in late August is a popular event lasting more than 10 years. There are many other activities, such as craft fairs and early-morning flea markets, throughout the year.
