"Sogo Museum of Art" is located on the 6th floor of Yokohama Sogo and is established in 1985 as an institution to lead in the development of a new Yokohama. The museum is aiming to contribute to the local community and broaden understanding of world cultures.
The museum houses about 200 paintings of oils and watercolors including the artworks by the Western-style painter Shintaro Suzuki, and it holds exhibitions of a wide variety of genres, including Western-style art, traditional Japanese-style art, folk crafts, sculpture, prints, books, and photos from Japan and overseas. Various special exhibitions are held every month in keeping with the museum's cultural role in its community. The museum gift shop also carries a large selection of souvenirs.
